Over the years, I have participated in several public forums, panels and lectures. The following are a few highlight events I have been invited to participate in.
Shnit International Short Film Festival: Critic & Host
Further to activities in various film societies, I was invited to join a panel of filmmakers and film critics at the famed Shnit Short Film Festival. I hosted the main screening and chaired discussions with the entry filmmakers. As a panel, we reviewed all the film awarded a winning entry.
The American Architecture Prize: Jury
Through the work of BeFront as an extension of my architectural profession, I was invited onto the jury panel of the 2017 American Architecture Prize Award in New York City. This was a great honour and it boosted our confidence in the growing publication.
GSA: Forgetting Architecture Masterclass
Forgetting Architecture was a masterclass put together in conjunction with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. I joined a group of architectural researchers and professors to present a series of lectures and open discussions on Memory and Architecture.
ELLE Decoration: SOLVE Design Competition
SOLVE was a national design competition run by ELLE Decoration and Adams & Adams Attorneys (patent) for inventive and innovative furniture, crafts and product designs. I joined a panel of artist, furniture/product designers and art critics.
GSB: Business Acumen for Artists
For two years, I was involved with the Graduate School of Business as a mentor and supervisor to the enrolled candidates of the Business Acumen for Artists Programme. Candidate are paired with industry professionals who act as supervisors for the duration of the course.
EMERGE : Architecture Competition
In 2016, I was invited to join the EMERGE jury; an organisation that offers competitions to African design students to promote innovative concepts that re-think the current rural and urban conditions. The organisation has been widely successful and has been recognized by international publications.
